2021 Updates
- Continued microservice modernization work for a leading Fintech.
- Finished some UI and serverless API work for an old client, a local management consulting firm, on a Gatsby, Prismic, Netlify stack. I'm more keen on Next.js as a React framework and Vercel for CI/CD these days, but it was fun to be working on the front-end again all the same.
- With Omicron present in our city, I stopped going to the gym. My back is not happy.
- Volunteered at a UHN vaccine clinic.
- Celebrated George's 7th birthday.
- Still working with a crew at a leading Fintech mostly on NestJS microservices and modernizing older Node services. Spent a fair bit of time writing Azure service bus integrations, cucumber bdd tests and Gatling performance tests.
- Reduced my privacy consulting work . I am still advising a couple of companies but I’m not taking on new work in this area at this time so I can focus more on engineering work.
- Rebuilt this personal site with Next.js and mdx.
- Started thinking of things to build so that I can learn Rust. I might re-write my personal CLI (fw-cli).
- Started working with a physiotherapist to improve my back, and started working out more regularly again.
- Learned about Project Gemini, a new internet protocol between gopher and http.
